They grew up writing poems to understand the world and see documentary editing as an extension of their lifelong writing practice. Emily fell in love with editing after creating a short documentary about the mother of an intersex child while earning their BA in Film & Television Production at Loyola Marymount University. They examine underrepresented stories through a queer, feminist perspective that humanizes and empowers their characters. Credits include shows such as Chef’s Table, Encounters, and Fit for TV on Netflix, plus the feature documentary Katseye: Wild Hearts. Outside of the edit room, Emily is an avid home-cook, contemporary dancer, fiber artist, and book club enthusiast. https://www.emilymalig.me/corporate daily 0.75 2021-02-03 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/6018e0b1b9d45c402152b0fe/1612287840239-BDB587OL2GH701K13AKR/RingCentral-logo.png Corporate https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/6018e0b1b9d45c402152b0fe/1612287818549-QSP9GH8OJDLGH41VNV91/Snapchat-Logo.png Corporate https://www.emilymalig.me/home daily 1.0 2024-02-06 https://www.emilymalig.me/contact daily 0.75 2021-02-03 https://www.emilymalig.me/film daily 0.75 2021-02-03 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/6018e0b1b9d45c402152b0fe/1612250202063-SRNQ3976DK5XUZUSZ7J2/Lilly+Poster.jpg Film A visual poem about two girls’ shared struggle with body image https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/6018e0b1b9d45c402152b0fe/1612293245704-P3F3GLT0K9M3QPU3EKG0/Klassy+Poster.jpg Film When Historic Filipinotown rapper Klassy returns to the hip-hop scene after having two children, she must learn to balance music with motherhood. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/6018e0b1b9d45c402152b0fe/1612293284669-GOO945VG9A3JSPH65W3F/Inter+Poster.jpg Film A German schoolteacher explains what it means to be “inter” as she reflects on her experience raising an intersex child. https://www.emilymalig.me/poetry daily 0.75 2021-02-03 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/6018e0b1b9d45c402152b0fe/1612299298474-VZGUA11839B6T365UPP5/Bloom+Cover.jpg Poetry Chapbook Chapbook Cover Art by Emily Malig https://www.emilymalig.me/poetry/grandma-lou monthly 0.5 2021-02-02 https://www.emilymalig.me/poetry/mother monthly 0.5 2021-02-02 https://www.emilymalig.me/poetry/lilly monthly 0.5 2021-02-02 https://www.emilymalig.me/poetry/feral monthly 0.5 2021-02-02 https://www.emilymalig.me/poetry/erinn monthly 0.5 2021-02-02 https://www.emilymalig.me/poetry/dear-mr-president-elect monthly 0.5 2021-02-02 https://www.emilymalig.me/poetry/teen-sex monthly 0.5 2021-02-02 https://www.emilymalig.me/poetry/julia-pw3zy monthly 0.5 2021-02-02 https://www.emilymalig.me/poetry/drsullivan-sfaef monthly 0.5 2021-02-02 https://www.emilymalig.me/poetry/inthedeepestremcycles-d5wa5 monthly 0.5 2021-02-02 https://www.emilymalig.me/poetry/mia-wdpy6 monthly 0.5 2021-02-02
